Owyhee Flats is located in downtown Boise, Idaho. It is the residential wing of The Owyhee — a $10 million, 120,000 square foot adaptive reuse project that repositions and refreshes an existing, worn-out, rabbit warren of a 1910 historic hotel. The Owyhee consists of 36 apartments, 5 stories of leasable office space, a ballroom, 4 street-facing retail spaces and 2 restaurants. The 36 one-bedroom Owyhee Flats apartments are converted from a 1960’s wing which originally consisted of 66 hotel rooms. The entire Owyhee project was developed by Local Construct. Beebe Skidmore teamed with David Ruby of The Architect’s Office who acted as the executive architect. The Owyhee was awarded an Orchid Award from Preservation Idaho & Idaho Historic Preservation Council and a Grow Smart Award in the Mixed-Use Design Category from Idaho Smart Growth. The project opened in 2017.
